Mindi McMann received her Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Davis. Her research and teaching interests focus on the intersections of literature, politics, ethics, and nationalism, using contemporary British and Anglophone literature as the center point of her work. More specifically, her work addresses the ways in which literature both shapes and represents shifting national identities in a globalized context based on a range of factors such as race, ethnicity, class, and religion. Her work has appeared in Modern Fiction Studies. Currently, both her work and teaching continue to explore perceptions of alterity in South Africa, the Caribbean, and Britain. She teaches classes at TCNJ in postcolonial literature and contemporary Anglophone literature
