Knocking on Heaven’s Door? Europe’s 25-Year-Old Mediterranean Migration Crisis Up Close viewing and panel discussion, and preface presentation by TCNJ alumni on her experience in a detention center.
Amara Lakhous, Algerian-Italian author and screenplay writer is on tour in the US with film director Salvatore Allocca to present his recent film, Taranta on the Road. Amara was among those who contributed to write the screenplay. The movie tales the adventures of two Tunisians who landed in Italy without documents with a plan to reach France. On their journey as undocumented migrants, they are helped by a musical band from Salento (Southern Italy), who ultimately decide to take them to France.
